粵華中學自從由鮑思高慈幼會接辦以來，到今日已發展成為一所擁有中、英文部共41班的學校。中文部初中學生修讀一般性的學科，高中則設文商科及理科；英文部學生於中四開始選讀文商科或理科，英中六則只設理科。

		本校於1925年由廖奉基和譚綺文兩位女士在廣州創立。後因時局動盪，於1928年遷來澳門。     至1942年四月，太平洋戰爭爆發，學校的經濟深受影響。廖校長遂與陳基慈神父洽商，同年正式交由鮑思高慈幼會接管。六月，第一屆的高中畢業生卒業，為本澳現存歷史最悠久之一所高中學校。 其後，慈幼會收購「青雲小學」舊址改建為「粵華分校」。 歷史短片      1944年，因「培貞女子中學」未在廣東省教育廳立案，經校方同意後，改名為「粵華中學女子部」。     於1948年開辦英文部。      1971年，粵華校友會 正式成立。     1973年，粵華中學女校脫離本校，改名為「聖心中文女子中學」，即是今日聖心中文部的前身。     1974年，本校獲准為倫敦大學普通教育文憑試(GCE)澳門區考試中心。     1988年，教職員聯誼會成立。於翌年增建一幢六層高廿二間課室及七間特別室之建築物，新校舍命名為「納德樓」。     1991年九月，「粵華分校」易名為「陳瑞祺永援分校」。1994年，學生會成立。     1995年六月十日，本校榮獲澳門政府頒授『文化功績勳章』及獎狀。同年九月，為回應本校女生攻讀理科的需求，英中六理科開始招數女生就讀。並於十月成立家長教師會。     2000年九月，為配合校更好的發展，本校中、英文小學部學生全部遷往「鮑思高粵華小學」上課，從此本校成為一所完全中英文中學。      為慶祝千禧年，同年十月動土奠基，將舊日大看台拆除，建成三層高橢圓形的多用途建築物，命名為「千禧綜合館」。於2001年五月四日由本澳特別行政區首長何厚鏵與林家駿主教聯袂主持揭幕禮。

	粵華，就是廣東之花－木棉之意。因此在校徽的正中，特別以一朵美麗的木棉花為標誌。 木棉是高大喬木，長得亭亭正直，不偏不倚，偉岸自得，儼然有英雄氣概，這正好象徵著我們的志氣，不屈不撓。 紅色十字架，表示本校是一所天主教學校，以基督的博愛及犧牲精神，作為我們處世做人的原則。 Our School's Motto derives from a famous saying of the great Sage Confucius. 	拉丁文 IN VIRTUTE SCIENTIA 意即求學首在修德，這正與孔子的教訓「德修學講」〈註〉的意義相切合。我們的校訓正好表明我們求學應有的態度：在道德方面，要注重品德的修養；在學業方面，要講求勤學鑽研。本乎此，凡是品學兼優，敬主愛人的，他才是真正的「粵華人」。 〈註〉：「德之不修，學之不講，聞義不能徙，不善不能改，是吾憂也。」                       (論語述而篇第三章)		strive to practice virtue, acquire learning, cultivate righteousness and avoid evil, he is wasting his own time and the time of his education. Our Motto, which in Latin reads "In Virtute Scientia" may be rendered "Knowledge through Virtue, i.e. if you wish to acquire knowledge, you must first practice virtue. It is interesting to note that St. John Bosco, the Founder of our Salesian Congergation, after many years of experience in the field of education, arrived at the same conclusion. He used to say: "A student who does not practice virtue will never be able to acquire true knowledge". Therefore, after the example of these two great Leaders, Confucius and Don Bosco, and under their guidance, let us strive to cultivate virtue and acquire knowledge.
