• English Month Celebration
  •     2019-01-11
  •       English Month 2018 commenced with our very first English Café at the Small Hall on 14th November. In this event, students had the opportunity to socialize and explore delicious treats prepared by their very own English teachers. Most of our ‘customers’ were junior students, who especially appreciated learning about snacks they could put together by selecting their own toppings or spreads. To complete the café ambiance, a live band performed contemporary English songs that the students and teachers enjoyed.
On 28th November, various English activities were held to celebrate the English Month this school year. F1 and JM1 students had an exciting Kahoot! competition based on the theme “My School”. The atmosphere in the Jubilee Complex was intense and all students cheered for their classes. The winning classes were F1E and JM1E.
The final and main highlight of the English Month took place at Jubilee Complex. After the inter-class competition, 5 different booths, each with two different levels, were set up to challenge students’ English language knowledge. The games were Name it!, Spelling bee, Amazing race, Re-arranging sentences and Guess what?. The activities aimed to encourage students to interact with their teachers and fellow students in English. Students had fun playing different types of English games and gained confidence from them. Students were also asked to complete certain tasks in pairs or groups, which helped develop their cooperation and team spirit.
Thanks to the attendance and enthusiasm of the participating students, English Month was a resounding success.
