The "2022 National Youth Electronic Information Intelligence Innovation Contest - Material Sorting ", sponsored by the Chinese Institute of Electronics, is a formal competition for primary and middle school students and is included in the "National Competition Activities List for Primary and Middle School Students in the 2021-2022 School Year" issued by the Ministry of Education. It falls under the category of "Natural Science Literacy".
As human society moves towards the era of highly intelligent artificial intelligence, this competition aims to stimulate young people's enthusiasm for artificial intelligence knowledge exploration and cultivate students' innovative thinking, collaboration ability, and practical skills. The Material Sorting Competition focuses on the practical application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of anti-epidemic materials sorting. Using virtual AI technology and artificial intelligence hardware as the carrier, the competition challenges students to design and create artificial intelligence works for material sorting. This year's competition sets a new selection mechanism and competition content, with a focus on creating a sorting device for airport materials that fully reflects the device's intelligence and accuracy, and improves the efficiency of sorting materials by category. The competition provides an opportunity for students to explore the application of artificial intelligence technology in practical scenarios, and to contribute to the development of this field. The students of our school are set to participate in the online competition in Macau on July 29, 2022. Teachers and students have spent months preparing for this event, and the results are excellent. This competition serves as a great opportunity to stimulate students' interest in artificial intelligence design and programming. Participating in such competitions can help students develop better skills in engineering or other related fields, and further cultivate local talent in innovative technology.
