In order to gain an in-depth understanding of the cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries, a group of 90 teachers and students of F4 to F6 Portuguese elective courses visited the “Pavilion of China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform “ on March 21 and April 11 respectively.
The exhibition hall displayed information on the construction of a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and featured their products and services in a variety of ways. During the exhibition, our students gained a deeper understanding of the cultures of the following nine Portuguese-speaking countries, including Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor and Equatorial Guinea.
Our students are most interested in their food and cultural and creative products. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition hall displayed a total of 2,000 special products from Macao and different Portuguese-speaking countries, including food, coffee, wine, health care products, clothing, cultural and creative design products and handicraft products. Our students learned about their economy, culture and culinary specialties of different Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as the status of Macao in the platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
This activity allowed our students to have a deeper understanding of the cultural charm and value of Portuguese-speaking countries. After the visit, our students expressed their hope to visit more similar exhibitions in the future to gain a wider understanding of the culture of Portuguese-speaking countries and the cooperation and development between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
At the same time, our teachers and students also thanked the staff of the exhibition hall for their warm reception and detailed explanation, and praised this cultural tour with rich content. They benefited a lot from this visit.
