On 31 March, the Spiritual and Moral Education Committee held a Lenten activity – famine lunch, attracting some 70 teachers and students to participate. By just having buns and water for lunch, participants were able to experience the taste of poverty and scarcity, and practise the spirit of self-discipline and sacrifice during Lent. In this way, they learned to care for those in need in society and around them.
Besides, the school invited an alumnus Mr. Jimmy Lam to give a speech to the participants. Mr. Lam is a nurse who works in the intensive care unit of a hospital. He shared his experiences and insights from work with the participants, reminding them that life is unpredictable and that everyone should cherish the time spent with family and friends with gratitude.
This Lenten activity raised over MOP 18,000, and all the proceeds have been donated to the charitable organizations listed in the parents' letter.
