To provide students with a better understanding of various occupations, some students from our school participated in field visit activities organised by the Chon Cheng Activity Center of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and the General Association of Chinese Students. On 30th May, our teachers and students visited the Civil Engineering Laboratory. During the visit, Dr. Ao Peng Kong, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, introduced the structure and work of the laboratory, and shared valuable advice on choosing courses and careers in related industries with our students.
Subsequently, Director Chui Wai Kin, Director Lam Wai Kin, Director Lei Kam Kin, Director Kam Kuok Iut, Mr. Lei In, and Mr. Ng Weng Sio led our students to different departments to learn about their work scope and to demonstrate a range of measurement experiments. These included the construction of the new city area A, the cross-sea bridge and monitoring work, slope safety and soil retaining work, ground monitoring, concrete compression test, steel bar detection, soil mechanics test, road surface quality control test, glass compression test, aluminum window wind resistance test, building leakage detection instruments and principles used, etc. This activity provided rich content and broadened the horizons of our students in making career plans. It was also of great help to everyone for their future career planning.      |
