A group of 24 captains and teachers, visited the Legislative Council of Macao a few days ago and communicated with government officials and attended the Educational Policy Conference held by the Social Affairs and Cultural Department.
Representatives of the Captains Association listened carefully to the speech of Secretary Ms Ao Ieong U, attended the Legislative Council meeting, observed and learnt from question sessions of Legislative Council Members. Students had a better understanding of Macao’s social and cultural education policies. The students also had the honor to talk and interact with President of the Legislative Assembly Mr Kou Hoi In, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ms Ao Ieong U, Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau Mr Kong Chi Meng, and many legislators. This visit gave our students an opportunity to express their concern and support for social policies and government work to government officials.
After the visit, our teachers and students said that the visit provided them with valuable learning opportunities and broadened their horizons of understanding society. Through policy debates, they can learn about the current education policies, as well as study in Portugal and the development prospects of the four major industries in the future. These will have a positive impact on their future studies and will actively participated in the public affairs of the school and the community in the future.
Here, our school would like to thank the relevant departments of the Legislative Council for their assistance, allowing teachers and students to obtain this valuable opportunity to observe and learn. We will continue to encourage students to actively participate in social affairs and develop their sense of citizenship and social responsibility.
