On 9th June, the Spiritual and Moral Education Committee of YWC invited Ms. Selina Ao Ieong, a disabled wheelchair athlete, to give a life education lecture to JM2 students. Ms. Ao Ieong suffers from congenital heart disease and "mermaid syndrome". Despite so, she has strived to overcome her physical limitations. She has won awards in multiple competitions, and represented Macao in international organizations. For instance, she was selected as a Special Olympics Global Messenger to promote messages of respect and zero discrimination worldwide. Through Ms. Ao Ieong’s inspiring sharing, students have learnt to face and overcome challenges with determination. Also, courage is always needed to surmount obstacles in life.
