In order to help students prioritise their future careers and assist them in career planning, as well as gain a deeper understanding of the work and future opportunities for architects, our school organised the "Career in Campus" program with the support of the Macau Architects Association on 14th and 16th September. The event was held in two parts: an introduction to architecture and an interactive workshop.
In the first part, Chairperson Ms. Choi Wan Suen and Vice Chairperson Ms. Wu Kin Kam of the Macau Architects Association introduced students to the work of architects, the industry requirements, and discussed future prospects. They patiently answered students' questions, allowing them to grasp a better understanding of the architect's profession. For the second part of the event, the Macau Architects Association arranged a team of architects, including Chairperson Ms. Choi Wan Suen, Vice Chairperson Ms. Wu Kin Kam, as well as architects Mr. Lam Lap Yan, Mr. So Wai To, Mr. Chan Chung, Ms. Choi Ching Yi, Mr. Ma Chi Fai, Mr. Ng Siu Hung, Mr. Chan Yat Wah, Mr. Ho Chin To, and Ms. Leong Yan Tung. They divided the students into groups and guided them in designing and constructing a building based on a real location near Yuet Wah College. The students actively participated, successfully completing the project with the architects' guidance. They also presented their works and shared their experiences. Chairperson Ms. Choi Wan Suen and Vice Chairperson Ms. Wu Kin Kam concluded the event by encouraging the students. Through a series of activities, the participating students gained a deep appreciation for the work of architects and even considered pursuing a career as architects in the future. The event was a resounding success, and we extend our gratitude to the Macau Architects Association for their support and organisation. |
