On the morning of 25th October, a group of national Olympic athletes visited our school, led by alumnus Ma Chi Iao. The event began with heartfelt dialogues between the athletes and our teachers and students in the Jubilee Complex Hall. The attending gold medalists included Su Bingtian (Olympic Men’s 100m), Liu Shiwen (women’s table tennis World Cup champion), Chen Meng (Olympic Women’s Singles Table Tennis champion), Sheng Lihao (Olympic Men’s 10m Air Rifle champion), Li Yuehong (Olympic Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol champion), Wang Zongyuan and Xie Siyi (Olympic Diving - Men's 3m Springboard champions), and the youngest Olympic champion, Quan Hongchan (Olympic Diving - Women's 10m Platform).
They shared their experiences of rigorous training and competing for national glory, encouraging students to adopt a positive and determined spirit, enhance their confidence, unleash their potential, and pursue their dreams. During the event, Legislative Council member and alumnus Ngan Iek Hang introduced students to the work of the Legislative Assembly of the Macao S.A.R. He encouraged them to have dreams, study diligently, and serve Macao society in the future, providing a valuable lesson in citizenship education. After the session, the gold medalists engaged in a pickleball match with students on the school playground, creating a lively atmosphere and uplifting spirits among the students. As our school approaches its centenary celebration, the visit from these gold medalists marks a vibrant chapter in our journey towards this milestone.     |
