On 17th December, our school held a seminar titled "The Writer's Self-Cultivation: My Experience with the Secondary School Reflection Writing Competition" at the Jubilee Complex Hall, with participation from classes JM1A, JM1B, JM1C, JM1D, and JM1E. This seminar was co-organised with the Macao Foundation and aimed to cultivate students' broad reading interests, enhance their writing skills, and help them understand how to find suitable writing materials from their daily lives. The guest speaker for this event was Mr. Lu, Aolei, a renowned poet, novelist, and columnist in Macao, known for his works that capture the local sentiments of Macao, often referred to as the " St. Dominic's Square Poet."
During the seminar, Mr. Lu not only shared his personal experiences but also introduced students to some classic Chinese works, such as " Strange Tales from the Liaozhai Studio" and "Zhuang Zi," as well as notable foreign works like "The Lost World" and "Building." Through interactive discussions, he encouraged students to read more to enrich their lives and actively participate in various activities to broaden their horizons. Throughout the seminar, students engaged in conversations with the speaker, gaining significant insights and enhancing their interest in the development of Cantonese and Mandarin.     |
