To deepen students' awareness of Chinese traditional culture, our Monitors’ Association organised a trip to the Macau Tea Culture Museum on May 14th to explore our country’s unique tea culture.
The Macau Tea Culture Museum is located in Lou Lim Ioc Garden. This building was designed by the famous architect, Mr Carlos Marreiros, who skillfully blended Portuguese architectural design with the scenic charm of Suzhou gardens in China, demonstrating the inclusiveness and flexibility of Chinese culture. Entering the Museum, our teachers and students were attracted by the rich exhibits. The docent not only led them through the origins of tea, but also introduced them the healthy ingredients contained in tea, as well as the stories and culture related to Chinese civilization.
During the visit, our students listened attentively to the explanations and stopped from time to time to watch the ancient tea sets and precious historical artifacts displayed in the Museum. Everyone was amazed by the important role that tea has played in the history of China and global civilizations. This visit not only broadened the students' knowledge about tea, but also deepened their appreciation of the unique tea culture in Macau. It was a very meaningful cultural activity.
This trip was not only a cultural journey, but also a spiritual immersion. I believe that through this activity, the seeds of tea culture have been quietly planted in studen hearts. In future, they will continue to take root and sprout as students experience more of the profoundness of Chinese tea culture and the unique charm of the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures in Macau.
