In the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad organized by the Macau Society of Science and Artificial Intelligence Education, students from Yuet Wah College delivered an impressive performance, with four students earning international awards. Their achievements reflect the school’s long-standing commitment to science education and its dedication to nurturing academic excellence.
The competition covered advanced chemistry topics such as molecular orbital theory of carbon monoxide, semiconductors and quantum dots, qualitative inorganic analysis, organic structure elucidation, thermodynamics, and vapor pressure applications — with a difficulty level comparable to first- and second-year university chemistry courses. F6A student Ao Ieong Iat Hei received both the “Global Merit Award” and the “National Regional Honorable Award.” F6C students Pun Wai Meng and Pang Chong Hang, along with F6A student Wong Man Cheng, each earned the “Global Merit Award,” marking a remarkable achievement.
Yuet Wah College has consistently promoted science education, with particular emphasis on chemistry. The school regularly organizes Olympiad training programs and assigns a dedicated team of teachers to guide students through theoretical instruction and mock exams, offering comprehensive academic support. The school is proud of its students’ outstanding performance and remains committed to encouraging participation in international academic competitions, aiming to cultivate future talents with strong scientific literacy and global perspectives.
