To expose students to diversified art education and experience the broadness and charm of traditional Chinese culture, our School Dance Team and students of the street dance class participated in the 2022 Dance and Art Inheritance in Schools Series, organised by the Macao Dancers Association on 3th May.
For students' better understanding of professional dance competitions, the event began with Natalia Leong, a top dance teacher in China and a famous dancer in Macao, introducing the 'National Top Dancer Selection Competition' and giving students more background information on Chinese traditional culture. In the second session, students learnt more about the traditional culture of the Chinese ethnic folk by asking the instructors questions. In the third session, the national top dancer Leong On Kei performed and gave a dance tutorial, allowing students to learn the shoulder movement in Mongolian dance and understand the form and rhythm of the dance. At the event, Chen Ming, the national top choreographer, praised the students' comprehension and imagination for being out of the box.
The students participated in the activity and said it inspired their passion for dance and cultivated their self-confidence and elegant artistic sentiments.
