A group of 16 students from our Monitor Association, led by Mr. Sam Chi Hou,visited the Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recycling Facilities on May 4. Our captains listened to an introduction to the recycling process and subsequent disposal and learned how to recycle all kinds of waste household appliances, such as small home appliances, refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, hard drives, ink cartridges, toner cartridges, LCD, CRT, and batteries. Everyone also learnt that the recycled and reusable electronic products and electrical appliances will be donated to charities in need to serve more disadvantaged groups in need.
Through this activity, our Captains had a clear understanding of the disposal of related equipment after recycling, and recognized the locations of recycling electrical waste stations in various districts in Macao. This would help to promote recycling of electronic products to their family members and the society and therefore reduce waste of resources. All our captains agreed that they had benefited a lot in this visit and it was quite environmentally friendly. |
