Our most venerable Fr. Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc, Salesian Regional Councillor for Asia-Oceania came to Macao from 30 August to 9 September, during which the General Councillor wass carrying out his Visitation to the Macao community in the name of the Rector Major, participating in a moment of fraternal sharing on evangelical witness, community life and the Salesian mission. A Holy Mass and conviviality with members of the Salesian family were held at our school Chapel on 3 September. During the gathering, Fr Phuoc shared his missionary work in his hometown, Vietnam with us.
Due to the typhoon, our school Opening Ceremony was rescheduled from 1 September to 4 September at Jubilee Complex. Fr Phuoc attended both the junior and senior forms Opening Ceremonies and delivered a speech to all students and staff members. Fr. Phuoc praised that our school is one of the best Salesian schools in the world and explained our annual pastoral theme “Grow in academics with diligence, unfold talents with decency. Fulfill mission with commitment, serve others with sincerity.” He encouraged the students to treasure the chance to study well and he emphasized the importance of fulfilling our missions with commitment. We will follow Fr. Phuoc's encouragement to pursue our dreams and fulfill our own missions for our community like Don Bosco, to work and study hard in God’s will, and to live a life of loving our Lord and our neighbours well. |
