Co-organized by Huawei's Macau branch, Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau, and Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, the "Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Macao" was successfully held on 16th December at the Exhibition Center of the Macao Science Center. The event brought together representatives from the government, institutions, the technology industry, and more than 200 participants including students and teachers from 19 local schools. The focus of the event was on talent development and enhancing the competitiveness of local technology professionals. The ceremony also recognised the winning teams of this year's competition.
The ICT competition consisted of two tracks: Network and Cloud. It tested the participants' breadth of ICT theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and teamwork abilities in multiple dimensions. The competition provided a platform for students with expertise in the ICT field to receive specialised training and showcase their potential. It aimed to identify and nurture talent in the ICT field at an early stage, allowing more outstanding young ICT professionals to excel in related fields and contribute to future scientific research talent and technological development.
The ICT competition has been held in Macau for three consecutive years, and this edition of the competition received enthusiastic participation with nearly 600 students involved. Fourteen secondary schools participated in the competition, with over 240 students from the secondary school category advancing to the finals. Among them, 36 students received awards in the TOP 3.
