The 2024 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International Robotics World Championship was held from November 28 to 30 in Izmir, Turkey. Under the guidance of Mr Tam Man Tou, our robotics team secured a spot in the Macau regional selection competition in mid-July and proudly represented Macau at the world championship. Mr Tam was also invited to serve as a judge for the Junior RoboMission.
After three days of intense competition, our team achieved a bronze medal in the RoboMission category, recognising the dedication and hard work of both students and their instructor. Congratulations to the award-winning students! Established in 2004 by the International Robot Olympiad Committee, the WRO is an international robotics competition originally designed for youth. It has since expanded to 99 member countries and has become one of the more academically rigorous competitions. The core goal of the event is to promote interest and learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among teenagers, while encouraging innovation and problem-solving abilities through competition.
