In order to promote the brilliant traditional culture of China and further stimulate the vitality of recitation arts in the Hong Kong and Macao region, the GAPSK Macao Language Promotion Centre, in collaboration with the Institute of Language Education at Peking University, recently organised a successful online recitation competition. This event adhered to the principles of both inheritance and innovation, carefully selecting a series of recitation materials, including the verses of the Tang Dynasty and the ditties of the Song Dynasty, which are rich in cultural connotation and contemporary relevance, hoping to guide participants to appreciate the profound depth of Chinese culture through recitation.
Among the many talented participants, our school’s Form 6 student, Pau Kin Lam, received unanimous praise from the judges for his passionate and expressive recitation performance, ultimately winning the competition with an excellent score of 90. This honour not only recognises Pau Kin Lam’s individual talent but also stands as the best testament to our school’s educational philosophy and the dedicated efforts of our guiding teachers.
Pau Kin Lam’s success is the result of countless hours of practice and refinement, supported by the careful guidance and selfless dedication of his teachers. At the same time, we hope that this competition will inspire more students to develop an interest in and love for traditional Chinese culture, encouraging them to bravely take the stage, convey emotions through their voices, and interpret Chinese classics through recitation. We believe that with everyone’s collective efforts, the recitation arts in the Hong Kong and Macao region will usher in an even more brilliant future.
Finally, we extend our warmest congratulations to Pau Kin Lam, wishing his smooth sailing in his future endeavours and continued success in creating new achievements.
