To promote traditional Chinese culture and enhance students' interest and understanding of history, the History Department of YWC organised a series of activities for History Month in March 2025. SM1 and F4 students participated in a local tour, visiting six historical sites guided by professional docents. SM2 and F5 students explored the "Patriotic Education Base for Youth," while SM3 and F6 students visited the Blue-Ribbon exhibition at the Poly MGM Museum. Through these visits, students engaged with valuable artifacts and witnessed the brilliance of Chinese civilization, gaining a deeper appreciation for Macao and strengthening their sense of national identity.
The month also featured a variety of activities around the campus. We invited an expert to give a lecture to F1 students, who shared stories about Macao’s historic districts and sparked students’ interest in local heritage. Additionally, interactive booth games were set up during lunch breaks to foster a school-wide learning atmosphere, allowing teachers and students to engage with history in a fun and lively manner.
The highlight of History Month was the 10th Inter-Class History Quiz Competition. The finals, held on March 28 at the Jubilee Complex, showcased intense competition between students from the Chinese and English sections. In a thrilling tiebreaker, the final results were: Champion - SM1D, First Runner-up - F4B, and Second Runner-up - SM3C.
Overall, History Month was a success, with active participation from both teachers and students. It enriched students’ historical literacy and deepened their patriotic spirit, allowing them to reflect on the past while envisioning a bright future.
