We are thrilled to announce that our students, in two teams, won the Gold Prize and the Bronze Prize in the Student Category of the 6th Macau Vocational English Contest, out of 161 teams from both the student and open categories.
The theme of this year’s contest is to promote Macau’s transformation into a regional sports hub. Participants have to create a video that helps service practitioners acquire practical English vocabulary and industry-specific skills. By participating in this competition, our students break new ground by using their language skills alongside their multimedia talents to produce a video that demonstrates the real-world application of language skills in sports services.
In an interview with TDM, Andy Sou, the representative of the gold-prized team, stated that they could go the extra mile to acquire additional English vocabulary terms that were rarely encountered in classroom settings when taking part in this competition. They also had to conduct research on sports slang, write video scripts, participate in acting and work as a team, all of which were enjoyable and provided a remarkable learning journey for their team.
The winners are as follows:
Gold Prize Winner (Team – The Hero Trees): Ulam Choi Io Lam (F3B), Jimmy Lo Nok In (F4A), Karlok Chang Kai Lok (F4B), Andy Sou Ka Seng (F4C) and Paco Wong Pak Hou (F4C)
