On January 12, a group of 32 captains of Junior Section, led by the instructors of the Captain Association, visited the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum.
Mr. Xian Xinghai was one of the most outstanding Chinese musicians in the 20th century. In his short forty years of life, he composed and left a large number of musical works for the world. Mr. Xian had a deep connection with Macao, and many of his works present the unique social atmosphere of Macao, which is worth the students’ time to savor carefully.
From the memorial museum, our captains saw Mr. Xian's life path, spiritual character and artistic achievements, and learned that his music reflected deeply on China's destiny, a thorough understanding of the national spirit, and expressed a firm belief in world peace. In the activity, the students learned of Mr. Xian’s patriotism and social responsibility, and learned the spirit of serving the country with knowledge.
All our captains agreed that they had benefited a lot in this visit and many hope that in the near future, they would have the opportunity to go to the Memorial Museum with their family members to experience the music world of Mr. Xian.
